Aren't part of the problems with our economy caused by Congress and the Senate?
We are blaming everything on the current president. But what has the congress and senate done, except waste a lot of time on dumb legislation. Like a energy bill that will work, house speaker Pelosi (D) left for 5 week vacation leaving Reps and Dems, on the floor instead of dealing with the issue. And could the rise in unemployment been caused by the rise in the minimum wage? Here is an example union workers get a multiplier of 3x minimum wage, so $.70 x 3=$2.10 per hour increase. And the employer says I cannot afford to pay you the increase and have to lay you off, sorry.
Our founding fathers founded this country and created it's laws to prevent the US from turning into another Bloody Great Britain. It's called checks and balances which gives both congress AND the president the power to veto each other or to pass each other's bills and laws. That is why nothing gets done in congress anymore and more than likely never will. The politicians nowadays do NOT want to do anything that will weaken their bill meaning compromise it's integrity. So you all the BULL that congress is working to find that middle ground that both sides can agree on -- don't you usually hear this just before an election in congress OR when congress is about to go out of session, just to save face.
I agree with the first answer to a degree YES we are all entitled to a vacation BUT I guess she must live with mommy and daddy still and can afford to go on a vacation every year. Nowadays nobody can afford to go on a vacation for 2 weeks let alone 5 weeks -- it's just to expensive. I wonder how many lobbyist payroll she is on to take a vacation that long.
As for minimum wages yes that has something to do with the rise in unemployment BUT also the prices of everything else from corn to gas to paper all fall into that as well. Another thing that falls into the rise of unemployment is all the outsourcing to India and China for cheaper labor and yes health care. Did you not know that it is cheaper for an insurance company to send your butt to India for a surgery and fly your family there as well and put them in a hotel instead of doing it here?
