Mounting depth for speakers in a 2000 silverado extended cab?
what is the mounting depth for the speakers in the 2000 chevrolet silverado. i need the measurement for the front and back doors. i know the front doors are 6.5s and the back are 4x6s. but i dont know what the maximum depth of them could be because i want to put new speakers in, so i need to know the depth
thank you
That kind of stuff you'd have to measure. The front is more important to know than the back, because in the back there's not a window rolling up and down, in the front if it's too deep your window will get scratched or won't roll up or down.
Why aren't my surround speakers and receiver working together?
I have a Marantz SR5000 receiver and new Energy 5.0 surround speakers. Hooked the speakers up but the sound doesn't seem quite right and seems low volume in surround mode. Playing music in stereo sounds great, so it's really just a surround mode issue. Just now the center speaker went "quiet", which scared me and I shut the whole thing down. Is this a setup problem or does the receiver just suck? (I know the receiver's not top notch and is old but it should handle the speakers, shouldn't it? Both are 8 ohms). Thanks!
Surround sound effects will only play when they are present in the audio track. This is a set up issue. After all speakers are correctly hooked up and you have done the speaker set up on the receiver, you must set the volume levels independently using the built in test tone generator in the receiver and a sound level meter(or your ears). Consult the owner's manual for the SR5000 for proper set up. Good luck.
