PC Oscilloscope – Spectrum Analyzer
I want to do a project ..to make PC based oscilloscope and spectrum analyzer ..can anyone help me?
I want more help in developing the software ...
You can do one of three things -
1) make a PCI card that has a high speed ADC in it - then do the analysis / spectrum using a program on the PC that communicates to the card.
2) make an external circuit with a USB / serial interface to the PC and have the analysis / spectrum done using a PC software.
3) ( this is the worst idea of all) you can use the ADC in the sound card for frequencies < 22khz and view them / analyze them using a PC software. I have made this a few years ago and it works well - but you should normalize your input voltages otherwise you will damage the sound card and possibly your motherboard
